 Barbourne Health Centre Online

Barbourne Health Centre operates from a new purpose built surgery in Droitwich Road. Patient care is our priority and our team of experienced and approachable GPs, Prescribing Nurses, Nurses and Health Care Assistants offer weekday appointments and home visits where necessary.

The Health Centre covers an area within Worcester city and it is our policy to provide health care as a team, day and night in conjunction with other health care professionals based at the surgery or in the community.

We would like to advise all of our patients that on the afternoon of Thursday 25th May between 13.00pm & 16.00pm, the surgery is having an afternoon for staff training. There will only be skeletal staff on the front desk and taking calls.

If you are in the surgery and need urgent medical attention there will be a duty doctor to cover. If you do need to call the surgery please try to avoid these times unless you feel it is urgent.

We thank you for your co-operation

Barbourne Health Centre

In recognition of the additional pressures experienced at this time of year and in response to increased demand for appointments we are adding some additional appointments into the system. These appointments are bookable on the day and are for patients who need to be seen urgently.

Our reception staff will offer you one of these appointments if it is appropriate when you ring in for an urgent same day appointment. Unfortunately these appointments are not available to book in advance as they are specifically designed to help with on the day urgent demand.

You will also have the opportunity to book out of hours appointments through the normal working hours at the practice.

Medical Students qualify as doctors after 5 years, but they then need a further 3 years training to qualify as general practitioners.

Barbourne Health Centre started to train junior doctors in 2015.

Dr Holmes is a qualified "trainer" who has been involved in training young doctors who have a interest in becoming GPs.

You may during your visit to Barbourne experience a consulation in a joint surgery, where the trainee GP observes the trainer in consultation, or the trainer watches the trainee consulting.

These joint consultations are a very valuable learning tool for trainees, and we are grateful to all of our patients for supporting us all with this.

Patient Participation Group (PPG)

We are currently looking for new members for our PPG – all ages are welcome.

If you are interested in joining, please contact the Medical Secretary at the surgery on 01905 22888 for further information.
